Mind & Body

Balance out your Mind & Body !

Quote of the Day
"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear."
- Ambrose Redmoon

“ It has long been known that physical, mental, and spiritual health are all intertwined. Finding what brings each of us to a comfortable and secure place in our world will reduce stresses on our physical body, promoting overall wellness. Each and everyday provides us with the opportunity to do something truly meaningful and stir our very soul."

Relaxation exercise

In today's hectic world relaxation is something we all need to fit into our schedules, for both our physical health as well as our emotional well-being. Simple breathing and stretching exercises are powerful tools for relaxation, lowering blood pressure, releasing tension, and focusing on the task at hand.

Tips for breathing and stretching

  • Through deep full breaths you improve oxygenation of your blood and send nourishment to every part of your body.
  • When you breathe deeply your body relaxes, this explains why most relaxation techniques are based on slowing down your breathing.
  • Breathe deeply and slowly, in rhythm with your body's movements. Never hold your breath.
  • When stretching don't bounce or force a stretch, always breathe and relax into it.
  • It's always better to do one or two stretches correctly and completely, rather than rush through many stretches.

Guidelines

- Keep life simple.
- Avoid faultfinding.
- Learn to enjoy work.
- Have a hobby you like.
- Like people.
- Say pleasant, cheerful things.
- Turn problems into opportunities.
- Practice being satisfied.
- Be decisive.
- Live in the present moment, now.
- Look forward to something.
- Brush aside the "little things".

Spiritual Tip

"Master Power"

I believe it was Mozart who was once asked "when, and where did you ever think of the divine theme for your Ninth Symphony?"

"Well, it was like this," began the great master, "I went for a walk out in the country, and when it got hot and I got hungry, I just sat down by a little brook and unpacked my bologna and cheese. And just as I opened the greasy paper that 'darn tune' just pops into my head!"

I don't think I'll swear to the authentic accuracy of this little incident, but it does point to a great power: CREATIVITY HAPPENS WHEN WE RELAX! Positive, relaxed imagination is the winged angel of God bearing unforeseen good and goods.

How did He say it, "In quietness... you shall find your strength!"

Dr. Berryhill is a well known spiritual leader.Formerly on NBC "Unity" for six years along with numerous other TV and radio programs. He strongly believes that in order to have a healthy mind one must also love and nurture their body and soul.
